The term “personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, and includes information such as your name, email address, photograph and contacts in the address book of your mobile device (the “Address Book Contacts”).

When you open the App for the first time, you will be asked to register for a Yupp Account by allowing the App to connect to your Facebook or LinkedIn account. Upon allowing the App to connect to your Facebook account and LinkedIn account, we will collect your name, Facebook and LinkedIn profile picture, email address and phone number from your Facebook account, hometown, professional info, job title, mutual friends, endorsements, work history, college attended, twitter name, Facebook link, LinkedIn link, phone number, url or website info, Dribbble account, GitHub account, and any tags associated with the professional profile. We use this information to confirm your identity, create your Yupp Card and social profile, as well as index you in order to make you searchable and connect you to other Yupp users.
Yupp enables you to search for contacts or professionals within the app. When you locate a person of interest within the app, you can ask the person to become your friend by requesting to connect with them. The following outlines how we collect, use and disclose personal information to facilitate this functionality.
After successfully registering for a Dubb Account, the App will upload all of your Address Book Contacts to our servers (the “Uploaded Contacts”) for the purpose of enabling to recommend possible friends, or people you may know already sign up for Yupp.
We collect this information, as well as the Tags you assign (as defined below), in order to facilitate searches and requests for permission sent by Your Contacts to connect with other Uploaded Contacts.
Each time you open the App, the App will detect any changes that were made to your Address Book Contacts and update those changes to your Uploaded Contacts automatically. You may also choose to revise and update your Uploaded Contacts from within the App at any time, however, you should know that these changes will not be made to your Address Book Contacts.
You may organize your Yupp Friends by creating and assigning one or more “tags” to each individual in your friends (“Tags”). For example, you may choose to assign the Tag “Photographer” to individuals who are professional photographers. Assigning Tags to individuals in your network will help to categorize such individuals in the search results of friends when they conduct searches using those particular Tags. We collect the Tags that you create and/or assign in order to facilitate these searches.
You may use the App to search for individuals in your social and professional networks by name, Tag, company, job title, location or event attended, and we will collect the search terms (e.g. names and/or Tags) so that we may execute the search on your behalf. We will also collect information on the type and number of searches you perform so that we may analyze and improve the functionality of the App.
When you contact us with a question, comment or complaint, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name, email address or a phone number) along with additional information we need to help us confirm your identity (if necessary), and to promptly answer your question or respond to your comment or complaint. We may also retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service, product and service offerings.
We will not disclose, trade, rent, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information, without your consent, except as otherwise set out herein.
When you search for individuals in within Yupp, we will disclose only the name, if available, photo and Tags related to, education, job title, company, and location. No phone number, or e-mail address will ever be shared without your acceptance of the friend request by the party conducting the search.
The App can open a third party application on your mobile device and pre-populate the contact information of an individual with whom you wish to connect. If you choose to use this feature, we will disclose the contact information of the individual with whom you wish to connect to the third party application for the purposes of facilitating the connection.
Third party messaging applications are not controlled or provided by Yupp. When you launch a third party messaging application from within the App, the applicable third party’s terms and policies apply, including such third party’s privacy policies. You should make whatever investigation you feel necessary or appropriate before launching or using such third party messaging applications.
We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal information to our affiliates, partners and other third parties who provide services on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers to host the App or send communications on our behalf.
Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for their own purposes. Your personal information may be maintained and processed by our affiliates and other third party service providers in the US or other jurisdictions
We may transfer any information we have about you as an asset in connection with a merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of the App or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control.
Dubb, our affiliates and our Canadian, US and other service providers may provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by applicable Canadian, US or other law. We may also disclose personal information where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or as otherwise permitted by law.
When you use the App, we collect information about your interaction with the App, such as what features you use in the App for the purposes of helping us understand how our users use the App, and to monitor and improve the App. We also track your location and geo-fencing in order to recommend and suggests events for you to check in, date and time the user uses the app, network status, and any and all information collected by Mixpanel Analytics as well as Flurry Analytics.
We have implemented administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information in our custody and control against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure.
You have the right to access, update, and correct inaccuracies in your personal information in our custody and control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. To request access, updating or correction of inaccuracies in your personal information that we have in our custody or control, you can use the App to review and correct your personal information, or you can email or write to us at the contact information set out below. We may request certain personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the individual seeking access to their personal information records.
